Request a voting pass for municipal elections

If you are eligible to vote in the elections, you will receive a voting card at home. Did you not receive a voting pass or did you lose it? Then you can request a new voting pass.

Approach

How to request a new voting pass for the municipal elections:

  • Apply for your voting pass online from the municipality. This is the municipality where you were registered on February 2, 2026.
  • Your online application must be received by the municipality no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13.
  • You can also visit the municipality to request a new voting pass. This can be done until Tuesday, March 17, at 12:00 noon at the latest. Please bring your ID with you.

Description

The municipal elections will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. You will need a voting pass to vote. The voting pass will be sent to your home address. The voting pass will be sent to the address where you are registered on Monday, February 2, 2026.

You will receive your voting pass for the municipal elections no later than Wednesday, March 4, 2026.

Did you not receive a voting pass? Or have you lost your voting card? Then request a new voting pass.

Requirements

Do you have Dutch nationality? Or the nationality of another EU country? Then you are eligible to vote/can apply for a voting pass if you: 

  • Are 18 years of age or older on the day of the election
  • on February 2, you are registered in the municipality where you want to vote
  • are not disqualified from voting

Are you a citizen of a country outside the European Union? Then you can apply for a voting pass if you:

  • has a valid residence permit. Read more about this at Kiesraad.nl.
  • has lived in the Netherlands for at least 5 consecutive years as of February 2
  • Are 18 years of age or older on the day of the election
  • on February 2, you are registered with the municipality where you want to vote
  • are not disqualified from voting
