Grant scheme for small initiatives Heritage Year
In 2025, Heerlen is all about its rich history and promising future. In the coming year, the city will bustle with fascinating stories, large and small. With numerous events and activities, devised and carried out by young and old, we will celebrate the Year of Heerlen's Heritage in 2025. The Municipality of Heerlen helps small initiatives with a subsidy scheme. This can be applied for from September 1.
Story of Heerlen
The Heritage Year offers a unique opportunity for everyone in Heerlen to contribute to telling the story of our city. We tell the story of Heerlen through five timelines: Romans, Knights and Robbers, Mine Age, the Transition Years and the Future. For cultural institutions, associations, educational institutions and enthusiastic residents, a financial contribution through a grant is possible. From September 1, this subsidy scheme goes into effect to support small initiatives.
Alderman for Culture and Heritage Jordy Clemens: 'The year of Heerlen's heritage is just around the corner. It promises to be an impressive year. We invite everyone to tell the fascinating stories of our city in a creative way.'
