Access enclosed areas

Parts of Heerlen are closed to motorized traffic by bollards. Sometimes you can still access these areas.

Cost

Rates 2024

A deposit for a temporary key or pass for the access posts costs €65. This amount will be returned to you when you return the key or pass.
An exemption if you need one for access to the area costs €18.50
A new key or pass if the temporary one is lost or damaged costs €65.

Description

Examples of locked areas include park Heerlerheide, Hoensbroek and a number of outlying areas.
Heerlen center is connected to the new access system, which works with cameras.

Term

The municipality will decide on your application within 8 weeks of receipt. Extension of this deadline is allowed once.

The municipality uses the policy rule Passing Bus Locks and the policy rule Driving in the Pedestrian Area in making the decision

Objection and appeal

You can object to the decision on your application. Do this within 6 weeks. Do you then disagree with the decision on the objection? Then file an appeal with the court.
