How to report subversive crime:

Description

Criminals also need non-criminals for their activities. For example, they rent a house to store stolen goods. The landlord of the house thus becomes involved in criminal activities, even though the landlord may not be aware of this. This is an example of undermining crime.

The municipality works together with the police and the Public Prosecution Service (OM) to tackle crime. However, subversive crime is sometimes difficult to detect. You can help by reporting suspicious situations. For example:

  • a store or restaurant where no customers ever come
  • a hairdresser where you can never make an appointment
  • an empty barn where you regularly see people
  • dumped drug waste
  • someone without income who owns an expensive car
