This is how you get an important document authenticated by the municipality:

  • Contact the municipality.
  • You bring the document you want to be authenticated. You may authorize someone to do this for you.

Description

You can ask the municipality to authenticate a copy of a document. This means that the copy says exactly the same thing as the original. 

The municipality does not authenticate diplomas.

It is important to avoid fraud when authenticating diplomas.
Contact the educational institution to have it verify that it is a diploma or certificate issued by them. The DUO has a diploma register for individuals and companies. Check the DUO website.
