Tree pasting or paneling

Trees of the municipality are protected. It is prohibited to damage or plaster municipal trees and shrubs. For example, you may not attach a banner in or to a tree.

Do you want to plaster or carpenter a tree? Then ask permission from the municipality.

Approach

This is how you request permission to plaster or daub a tree:

  • Please contact the municipality. 
  • In any case, you pass on:
    • which tree is involved
    • what comes on or to the tree
    • your reason
    • when you want to plate or paneling the tree

Description

It is prohibited to damage or tag municipal trees and shrubs. You need written permission from the municipality if you want to attach something to a tree.

The municipality never gives permission for sticking or carpeting trees. You are also not allowed to prune without an order from the municipality.

Term

The municipality will make a decision on your application within 8 weeks of receiving it. If that is not possible, the municipality may extend this period once by 6 weeks.

Objections and appeals

Do you disagree with the municipality’s decision? If so, you can file an objection. This allows you to explain why you disagree. Other people who are directly affected by the decision may also file an objection. You must file your objection within 6 weeks. The municipality will then issue a new decision.

Do you disagree with the new decision? Then you can ask the court whether the municipality has made the right decision. This is called 'appealing'. You must do this within six weeks. You can only appeal if you have lodged an objection.
