Tree pasting or paneling

Trees owned by the municipality are protected. It is prohibited to damage or tag municipal trees and shrubs. For example, you may not attach a banner in or to a tree.

Do you want to plant or shade a tree? Then apply for a permit from the municipality.

Approach

This is how you apply for a permit to board or shade a tree:

  • Go to the Environment Counter. 
  • Do the permit check. You can then apply for the permit right away. 
  • Log in:
    • for yourself: with DigiD 
    • For a company: with eRecognition 
  • In any case, you pass on:
    • which tree is involved
    • What comes on or to the tree
    • your reason
    • when you want to carpet or paneling the tree

Description

It is prohibited to damage or plaster municipal trees and shrubs. You need an environmental permit if you want to attach a banner to a tree. Or if you want to hang something else in or on it.

The municipality never gives permission for trees to be boarded or timbered. Nor should you go pruning if the municipality has not instructed you to do so.

Term

The municipality decides on your application within 8 weeks of receipt. The municipality may extend this deadline once.

Objection and appeal

You can object to the decision on your application. Do this within 6 weeks. After that, do you disagree with the decision on the objection? Then file an appeal with the court.
