    • the date of the demonstration
    • the time of the demonstration
    • how many people participate
    • The purpose for which you are holding the demonstration

For example, do you want to make loud noise, hang banners, set up a stage or stalls? If so, you may also need permits. Please contact the municipality.

Use the report form and also report it by phone to the customer contact center at 14 045.

Description

A demonstration is a group of people coming together to call attention to a common point of view. Anyone may organize a demonstration. The municipality can prohibit a demonstration or designate another place, for example.

For large demonstrations or demonstrations on socially sensitive topics, it is important that you as an organizer give at least one week's notice. We always consult with the organization and the police beforehand. The mayor imposes a number of regulations and restrictions and possibly designates a demonstration location. This is to protect health, traffic safety and/or prevent disorder.

We must receive the notification no later than 2 business days before the public announcement of the demonstration or demonstration. We can then work with police and Enforcement to take safety measures. This is in everyone's best interest.

Terms

The conditions for holding a demonstration are:

  • It is peaceful.
  • It is not a threat to:
    • health
    • traffic
    • public order

Objection and appeal

You can object to the decision on your report. Do this within 6 weeks. Do you then disagree with the decision on the objection? Then file an appeal with the court.
