Data in the basic registration of persons ( BRP ) to adjust
Everyone who lives in the Netherlands must be registered in the Municipal Personal Records Database ( BRP Are your details correct in the BRP not? Or do you want to have your data changed or removed after an adoption or gender change? Please report this to the municipality in which you live.
Approach
This is how you change incorrect data in the Personal Records Database ( BRP ) Through:
- Make an appointment with the municipality.
- Come to the appointment and Bring along :
- your valid ID
- proof of the incorrect information, such as a letter showing your name in error
- proof of proper records, such as proof of divorce or birth certificate
This is how you request a change or deletion of records after adoption or gender reassignment:
- You send your application to the municipality.
- With your application, please send along:
- A copy of your valid ID
- proving the correct data
- for data on sex change: an expert statement
Adjustment of data BRP due to event abroad
Do you want to enter your data in the BRP adjust? And does the official document required for this come from abroad? Because you got married abroad, for example? Then you may need to have the document translated. There are 3 possibilities:
- The document is written in Dutch, French, German or English.
Then take this document with you. You do not need to have anything translated. - The document is not written in Dutch, German, French, or English. And the document comes from an EU country.
Then bring this document with you, and a multilingual model form of the document. A multilingual model form is a translation of the document. You apply for it in that other EU country.
Is there no multilingual model form of the document? Then you must have the document translated, and bring it with you to the appointment. - The document is not written in Dutch, German, French or English. And the document is not from an EU country.
Then have the document translated by an official translator and bring it with you to the appointment.
