Municipal elections 2026

Voting is about more than coloring a box red. Your vote determines your future and that of your neighborhood. The council and the college decide your daily life and your neighborhood. Think about jobs, the layout of your neighborhood and streets, new construction projects or education in your neighborhood. So use your right to vote March 18, 2026 and vote for the party that suits you!

Timeline for the election

  1. Completed: Registration designation municipal elections -

    Last day to register as a political party. 

  2. Completed: Deposit for candidacy paid -

    Uiterste dag waarop de waarborgsom voor de kandidaatstelling op de rekening van de gemeente moet staan.

  3. Still to do: Early submission of candidate lists -

    Politieke partijen zorgen ervoor dat de concept kandidatenlijsten ingeleverd zijn. Maak een afspraak voor de voorinlevering. 

  4. Still to do: Declarations of support made -

    Tot 2 februari leggen we ondersteuningsverklaringen af voor partijen die nog geen zetel hebben in de gemeenteraad.

  5. Still to do: Nomination Day -

    Politieke partijen leveren de definitieve kandidatenlijst aan. 

  6. Still to do: Voting passes distributed -

    Voters will receive their voting passes by March 4, 2026, at the latest.

  7. Still to do: Election day -

    Kiezers brengen hun stem uit. Hierbij moet u zich identificeren.

Every Dutch citizen aged 18 or older who is eligible to vote may vote or participate in the elections as a candidate. Have your say in what happens in our country and in your neighborhood. Below you will find everything you can currently arrange with the municipality.
