Approach

This is how you report a sewer complaint to the municipality:

  • You contact the municipality by phone or make a report.
  • You provide:
    • your name and address
    • What kind of complaint it is (clogging, stench or subsidence)
    • how long you have had the complaint
    • Whether your neighbors have the same complaint
    • any photos and construction drawings
    • any investigation or statement from a company that investigated your complaint 

Is the municipality responsible for the reported complaint? Then we will contact you and ensure that the sewer is repaired as soon as possible.

Is your home connection clogged? Then you may use the unclogging scheme. A specialized company will contact you as soon as possible to make an appointment.

Costs

Rates for unclogging are with VAT:

  • €100 on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
  • € 125 on weekdays between 4:30 p.m. and 8 a.m. ( 125%)
  • € 125,- on Saturday the whole day (125% )
  • € 150,- on Sundays and holidays all day ( 150% )

Before starting work, you will sign a document. You then agree to the Requirements. The hired company will send you the bill. The discount scheme does not apply to apartments and indoor clogs, such as kitchens, bathrooms, toilets and so on. If you hire a company yourself, the costs are at your own expense.

Description

The municipality is responsible for the construction, maintenance and management of the main sewer system with the pumping stations, pumps and storage and settlement basins. The owner of a home or structure, is responsible for the construction and maintenance of the connection to this system. You may report complaints about odors, sewer blockage or subsidence of the road due to a sewer leak to the municipality.

The municipality has contracted with a specialized company to unclog house sewers. You can go there for a cheaper rate if your sewer connection is clogged. This is not possible if you are the cause of the blockage yourself. The company only does the unclogging work.
