Mobile parking

In the center of Heerlen, you can pay parking fees with your cell phone. You only pay for the time you park. Mobile parking is available at all paid parking lots in the center. The rates for mobile parking are the same as those of the ticket machine.

Approach

 Mobile parking in six steps 

  1. You register with one of the providers once via the Internet.
  2. Park your car in one of the paid parking lots in Heerlen-Centrum.
  3. Start the parking action with the app, SMS, mobile internet or call.
  4. Provide the number of the parking meter. Depending on the provider, some smartphone apps automatically provide the zone number where you are currently parking.
  5. When you leave again, stop the parking time by signing out with your provider. Do this again with the app, SMS, mobile internet or calling. So you only pay for the actual parking time.
  6. The provider will bill you at the agreed time and in the agreed manner.

Cost

You pay the provider afterwards for the time parked at the applicable rate.

Would you like to use mobile parking? Then register with one of the mobile parking providers. You do this registration once. The municipality of Heerlen chooses to work without a fixed provider and has an agreement with Servicehuis Parkeer- en Verblijfsrechten (SHPV). Many well-known mobile parking providers are affiliated with SHPV. The terms and costs vary by provider. You choose a provider that suits you best. 

Mobile parking benefits

  • You do not need to use cash or debit cards to park.
  • You don't have to be back at the car in time to park longer. So you are less likely to get fined.
  • You pay only for the time parked, with the established parking rate.
  • Are you signed up with a provider? Then you can also pay with your cell phone in other cities where they work with mobile cell phone parking.
  • You do not need to put a parking ticket in your car. The parking controllers check via license plate number if you are logged in via mobile parking.
