For the ceremony, the municipality has a team of enthusiastic special civil registry officials (BABS), each with their own style. Locations

In Heerlen, it is possible to get married anywhere in the municipality. There are two municipal locations: Heerlen Town Hall, designed by the famous architect F. Peutz, and Hoensbroek Castle, one of the most beautiful and largest castles in the Netherlands.
