Complaints and Objections

If you disagree with a decision of the municipality on an objection you have made, you can appeal. This is usually done in court.

If you disagree with a decision made by the municipality, such as if your application for a permit has been denied, you can appeal it.

If you have suffered damage at the hands of the municipality, you can hold the municipality liable. You file a claim with the municipality.

You may ask the municipality for information about policies or from other documents. This is regulated by the Open Government Act. Anyone can ask for information.

Has an employee of the municipality not treated you well? If so, you can file a complaint with the municipality.

Do you disagree with a plan or decision of the municipality? Then you can submit your views. You can send in your opinion orally.
