Sports allowance for young people

All children should be able to join a club. This is not possible for all children. The Youth Sports Fund can help.

For children from low-income families, the Youth Sports Fund pays:

  • the membership fee for the sports club
  • and the cost of sports equipment

Approach

Parents and young people cannot apply themselves. Please contact Stichting Leergeld Parkstad. They will submit an online application for your child. They will need some information from you, such as:

  • contact information
  • name of sports club
  • what sports equipment is needed
  • and a financial incentive

You can apply for a contribution from the Youth Sports Fund every year.

You will not receive any money yourself. The Youth Sports Fund will pay the sports club or sports shop. Alternatively, your child will receive a voucher from a sports shop. This will allow your child to choose their own sports clothing or equipment.

Another professional involved in your child's upbringing can also submit an application on your behalf. This could be a teacher, youth worker, social worker, or family doctor. They can submit the application on the Jeugdfonds Sport website.

Description
