Description

The Basic Registration of Persons (BRP) contains data on all residents of the Netherlands. You can request a copy of your own data. This is called an extract. This includes your name, date of birth, place of birth and current address.

Authorities may ask for an extract from the BRP. For example, you can show a housing association that you are registered with municipality.

Are you traveling abroad with a child under the age of 18? Request an extract for traveling with minors. This contains the child's details and who has authority. This can be useful during border controls.

The BRP goes back to October 1, 1994. Do you need older data? Request it from municipality where you were living at the time.

Parents or guardians are not required to submit an extract from the BRP to the school when enrolling their child in a program!

Term

Did you request the extract online? We will send it to you by mail.
