Work has started on Huisberger Street. The Municipality of Heerlen is carrying out this work to make the street safer and more pleasant for everyone who lives and drives through it. We expect the project to be completed by March 2025. We are doing our best to limit the inconvenience.
On November 18, an archaeological survey will begin on the Council House Square in Heerlen. We are doing this research before we redesign the square. We will be looking for traces from the Roman period. The research will take about two weeks and ADC ArcheoProjecten will carry it out.
Between Nov. 11 and 13, 10,000 Heerlen residents will receive an invitation to the citizens' council. With this invitation, residents can register for the citizens' council. We will draw 136 Heerlen residents from among those who register. They will form the citizens' council that in January 2025 will answer the question: "How do we ensure that the municipality of Heerlen is a nice place to live for everyone?".

Heerlen is committed to growth with a new housing plan: the New Heerlen Housing Fundament. This plan focuses on healthy expansion of the housing stock in Heerlen. This will include more supply in mid-rise apartments and spacious ground-level homes.
In Hoensbroek all public lighting is now LED lighting. Alderman After the last inspection in Hoensbroek-Centrum near the Hoofdstraat/Polderstaat, Peters officially put the lighting into use.
The Municipal Executive has decided that MeanderGroep Zuid-Limburg and Ambulante Thuiszorg (ATZ) will remain the care providers for domestic help in Heerlen. The municipality and the care providers have been negotiating in recent weeks. They have reached an agreement and the work will continue after January 1.
Last week in Lindeveld we presented the final plans for the thorough greening. This approach in the neighborhood is the initiative of the people themselves to get started with facade gardens and the plan of the municipality for more green in the city. Work will start this month and be completed by the end of January.
