Participation in society

In Heerlen, we want everyone to be able to participate, with or without disabilities. We also find it important that you are able to live independently for as long as possible. Sometimes this requires support, for example due to old age, illness or disability.
We assume that you will first try to solve your problem yourself. See what you can solve with your family, friends, neighbors and acquaintances. Is this not enough? Contact team Wmo by telephone.

Approach

How do we work?

  • You report to the WMO Team by telephone. Someone else may also do this for you.
  • Do you have no one in your area who can help you? Then you can get free help from MEE.
  • The Team WMO examines with you what request for help you have. This involves the following questions:
    • What can you still do yourself?
    • What can people around you do for you?
    • What municipal services can help you?
  • After the interview, the municipality writes a report.
  • If so, do you need a customized facility? Make an application to the municipality.
Sometimes you can get a customized facility from the WMO as a personal budget (pgb).

Cost

A custom-made facility from the Wmo may be subject to a co-payment:

  • This co-payment is a maximum of €20.60 per month.
  • Residents with income at the welfare level, do not have to pay a co-payment.

The Central Administration Office (CAK) collects the co-payment.
